first 10 mile race...first time racing in Baltimore...woke at 4am to get up there by the start...quiet trip up...no problems finding the Maryland Zoo which is where the race started and finished...a thunder shower commenced as the starting gun went off...rain most of the way...lighter than the start...skies opened up again at the post race ceremonies...not too many spectators, but the ones who were ot were boisterous...ran past the Baltimore Art Museum...Johns Hopkins...Baltimore City College and around a big lake (not sure of the name)...the lake was the halfway point...may have crossed Charles Street, reminding me of my days at Notre Dame...ran easy most of the way...steady but not my usual race pace...breathing was easy and natural...felt a little queasy approaching five miles, but had half an energy bar and gatorade that made me feel better...actually heard another racer's cell phone go off during the early part of the race...some nice schwag...a nifty running jacket...which actually came in handy after the race to protect against the elements...all in all a good time and I was pleased with my performance...
