10k - 31:16.06
An interesting race for sure. There were 2 pacers that were planning on running 71s laps. I knew I didn't want to go with them so I let them go in the first 200m. This left me in quite a pickle as the chase group behind me was running 76s and I didn't want that either. Ran alone for the first mile in 4:55, then someone from the chase group behind me closed the gap and joined me. He led a few laps which was nice, then I took it back at 2 miles (9:53). He again tried to help by taking it after 5k (15:34) but I could tell he was low on gas as the pace was slowing. I took it with 2 miles to go and he just hung on. Closed in a 66 and dropped him but I think I had more in the tank. I really don't like leading and I had to lead over 4 miles of this race. Guess this is motivation to race the 10k at Bucknell next year. Also the lead pack fell apart and I ended up 3rd. I had no idea since there was so much traffic lapping people (32 people) that it was hard to tell where I was in the race.
