Sleep: 10.25 hours. Incredible river walk long run today. Workout was to go out easy then do a progression the last 45, with the bulk of the last 45 at +1:45 and the last mile at tempo, also 2040's for 5 minutes to cap it off. Dropped an easy feeling 6:35 to start off the run and threw the plan out the window. Cruised through the first half at 6:23 pace and felt good. Calves were slightly sore, but it felt easy aerobically. Turned around by the shelter on Royce. Started the progression after 8 miles and worked down from 6:14 for mile 9 to 5:52 for mile 14. Last .45 was 5:46 pace so I did the tempo part fairly well. No 2040's because any pace changing at that point would have destroyed me. Started to get difficult around mile 10, but I still finished with a decent amount of energy left. Second half of the run was 6:07 pace and progression portion (last ~39 minutes or last 6.45 miles) was 6:04 pace. Last 3 full miles were 17:59, faster than my Detweiller at Dark time. First sub-6 mile not in a workout or race, over 30 seconds per mile faster than my second fastest long run, and my first time over 14 miles. Only negatives were having to stop for all the lights on the route, and getting roasted by Baganz, but it was worth it and I wasn't the only one who went faster than we were supposed to go. Huge confidence booster #sub10herewecome.
