Notes

10:36.23 3200m at the Dupage County Invitational. Felt pretty shitty before this, breathing hard after strides and legs were dead. Actually got out decently, but it just felt way harder than it usually does. Split 73.9, 77, 77.4, 78 to hit the 1600 in 5:06.3. I was still on PR pace, but I felt so awful I had already given up on PRing. Hopped aboard the struggle bus for mile 2. Split 80.3, 84.6, 83.9, 81.1 for a 5:29.9 second 1600. Precise splits on http://entries.pttiming.com/system/results/files/16308/original/LakePark.htm?1462590034 if you want to see the exact decimals of my demise for some reason. Kinda gave in a little the last 800, barely any kick, but I was suffering a lot and I never was going break 10:30 even if I had remained slightly more focused towards the end. Heat was a factor, but not the major one. Maybe the worst race of my career today, I've never fallen apart so much. I've felt pretty crappy the last few weeks, and for a while I've been able to push through it and race well, but it all hit me today. I originally thought the 1600 last week was just an off day, but it is pretty equivalent to this performance which leads me to think I may just be falling apart as the outdoor season progresses. I just don't thing my body can handle 3-4 speed days a week for this long, I've tried to push though it, but I'm not sure I can anymore. I should be feeling my freshest right now with the drop in mileage, but instead I feel worse than I did when I was hitting 75 mpw indoors. Very frustrating day. What a way to end my invite career as a redhawk, because any hope of running DVC is gone after what I did today.
