29:24.4 Spartan Invite 8k. Got out decently and felt ok at first. Hit the mile in ~5:29. Around 2k I realized it was hot as shit and I had gotten out far too fast for the conditions. 2nd mile in ~5:42, then basically limped in from there, with some very slow miles. Hit 5k in ~17:54 so last 3k was 6:10 pace lmao. Never blown up so hard in a race before. I think my fitness is decent right now I just don't do well in heat and I made it worse by getting out way too fast. I'll be back stronger come November.
