York Workout. 3200 @ +75 (6:08) straight into 1600 race. Split: 6:01, 6:11, 4:58.53. What an incredibly delicious workout. Stuck behind Bob for most of the "tempo". First mile was fast, second slightly slow, but nothing bad. Made sure not to start building before we actually started the race portion. Hit the final 1600 and shifted gears very quickly. Moderately quick first lap, then got caught by Thomas and Will, but stuck with them. Declan caught the group with ~600m to go and I slotted myself in behind him. Pushed to the front with 400 to go, but got passed by Thomas and Will around 200 left. Fought my way past Will and kicked home hard. Second finisher, but I think Will ran faster because he started later. No splits because Baganz didn't want us looking at our watches. Hard workout, but not as awful as I expected. Really raced the last mile, ran less than 2 seconds off my PR, and had a ton of fun. This kind of workout is tailored very well to the kind of runner that I am as well, I'll keep this in the back of my mind for future years. Also remembered why I love the LD5000's so much.
