77/61. Second half at marathon pace, except for mile 17 on the long uphill. Didn't plan on getting up to MP so soon but felt good. Planned on stopping as briefly as possible for drinks and eating gels on the run, but ended up not doing that either. Once it became clear that I was going for a faster, ambitious run, I let myself take short breaks for water and gels (4). I was falling apart after 16 miles and ran slow in mile 17 not only because of that hill. But I pulled it back together for the last few miles with the help of lots of water, another gel, and a salt pill. Not including mile 17, the other 9 miles of the second half averaged 6:49.93. The entire second half averaged 6:56.4.
