3 x 2 mile tempo intervals with 2 min. rest in between. Out and back in Potomac Park, with the first mile into a mild/moderate wind and the second mile with it. Ran outside without an allergy mask for the first time since Cherry Blossom. First interval averaged 6:22, the second 6:23, and the third 6:30. It felt difficult from the beginning, but I wasn't far off my goal pace of 6:20 for the first two intervals. I clearly fell off that pace on the third interval, which I almost didn't do, then almost waited three instead of two minutes to do, then almost stopped early. But I managed to stick it out. This isn't bad for my first (non-aborted) speed workout of any kind for several weeks. I expect (and will need) to get faster if I can keep doing these (tempos or 5k pace intervals) every 3-4 days now.
