4 x (400 R + 400 E) = 2 miles total. No stopping. Reps: (1) 85, (2) 84, (3) 83, (4) 84, avg. 84 = 5:36 for 1600m or 5:41/mi. pace. I wasn't looking at my watch - just concentrating on form and feeling, trying to increase my stride rate to go faster instead of taking huge steps. This felt like a pace that I should be able to hold longer in a little while, but today this wore me out more than my previous mini-workouts, especially after running 7:20 pace on my warm-up. But again I think doing more at this point would have been counter-productive. This was another step in the right direction. Wednesday's tempo intervals (4 x 1 mile unless I'm too tired after 3) should be much easier than last week, and on Friday I'm thinking maybe 3-4 x 800 around 5:50/mi. pace, perhaps wearing the T7s.
