Notes

Shorter, faster fartlek in the afternoon after a rainstorm: 3 x (3, 2, 1 min.) with equal recoveries. This time I hit the lap button on my Garmin after each section in order to track my paces, but I don't think I'll do that again because it ruins the spirit of the fartlek. Some pools of water stretching across the trail slowed me down a little, and the slower hard section at the beginning (the first 2 min. one) included a steep uphill. A half mile into my cool down jog I rolled my ankle pretty bad on an uneven part of the trail when I moved aside to avoid a biker. Then I had to walk about a mile home. Now, about an hour and a half later, it's swollen and hurts a fair amount but is not discolored. Icing, elevating, and taking ibuprofen.
