5 x (1km around 6:10/mi pace, 100m walk/jog in 1 min, 400m in 85-88) w/3 min rests. Warm and sunny. First track workout in 9 months, since last July in Athens. My stomach was a bit off, but generally this went well. The 1km pace felt relatively easy, but the 400m pace felt relatively hard - the opposite of how I remember this workout last July (when it was hotter and I managed only 4 sets but at similar paces). After the first couple of sets, I realized that sub-6 pace requires leaning forward and increasing my cadence more than I've done in a while, instead of trying to take bigger steps from an upright posture as I was initially inclined to do. Bathrooms at the track were locked but the water was on (I brought water anyway).
