CUA track

Notes

2.5 easy; 5 x [2 x 200 (200), 1 x 400 (400)]; 1.5 easy. Daniels week 7 Q1 rep workout at VDOT 55 paces: 200's at 41 and 400's at 1:22. First track workout in about 6 weeks. 200's were often a bit fast, but the paces were generally fine. The outside of my right hip has been hurting today and yesterday when I start running. My entire right hip/glute/hamstring area ached during this whole workout. I almost didn't do the 5th interval because of it. It wasn't enough to make me stop because I couldn't get through it - I wasn't working that hard at all - but because I was worried about how I'll feel tomorrow and after that. About three intervals in I saw some CUA cross country runners warming up for their own workout and noticed how much better their form was than mine (well, a couple of them). When I started trying to imitate them, it got much easier for me to run my own intervals. Form matters a lot. That should be the main thing on my mind when I run, especially when doing repetition workouts.
