85/61 (173). Much nicer weather today, but all my attention was on my stride. This time I deliberately ran slower while keeping basically the same stride rate. It still feels completely unfamiliar, but I'm becoming a true believer in the value of doing this. I'm now striking on the balls of my feet instead of my heels, except maybe when running downhill. The muscles on the front and a little bit to the side of my thighs and hips are struggling to keep up, but everything on my back side (including calves, hamstrings, and lower back) is fine. The Hokas gave my right little toe a hot spot at the end. I should not use them the next time I run. Perhaps I should take tomorrow off because of the new stress of this different form.
