Like last week, I ran most of today's route with others and then added two loops around East Potomac Park and some more wandering around the Mall to get to 22 miles. Unlike last week, the people I ran with were running easy and I didn't feel like pushing the pace either when I was on my own. Afterwards I noticed that my average HR is nice and low - lower than on any of my long runs since tearing my hamstring and also lower than most of my very long runs ever. I'm fit (also I was cold at the beginning, which could make a difference). It's funny how you can be fit and fat at the same time, but here we are.
