Notes
Parkinson's Half Marathon - Glorious weather, good race. More to come when I'm fresh off a nap.
The really short version of this is that it was a good and fun race. The wheels got very wobbly at mile 9 after I had passed everyone going the other way - the wind picked up a bit and I was definitely a little over-exuberant for a big chunk of the other racers. I'd do it again, but I probably could have dialed it back a touch.
Gear was the patagonia shorts and rocket singlet, which works. I'm a little knock-kneed on these paths, so I did have some inner knee chafing and the singlet is good until it dries out with salt.
It's the Parkinson's Half - the course is an out-and-back on the Glacial Drumlin aka the most time trial-y course you can imagine. There's a little twisty section at the very beginning and end, so I started on the line being me.
Also the beer line at the end was super long, but I also waited like 25 minutes to get in line without being smart and grabbing actual food.
I still really like this race as a local event - it's very casual, even if it's definitely not really focused on "runners". And I like that!
