Lake Monona 20K - registered!
That might have been too many matches for this race. Felt pretty good, but I'm comprehensively shelled now.
This is roughly a 1:22 high half marathon and yeah, that adds up. Pettit was fun, but I think that course is (a) super fast and (b) a bit cheat-y for a half at least.
No full race report, but I will say that I quite enjoyed this race. It's a fun loop and it's competitive without being aggressive in my opinion. The loop had a nice balance of flat and hills except for the turn at mile 8 up over the hill by Olbrich where it got windy. As is pretty obvious from splits, I definitely overcooked the start bad and the second half was a slog. As a counterpoint, even the winners had at least a bit of a positive split.
Mile splits: 6:04, 6:08, 6:15, 6:12, 6:12, 6:15, 6:21, 6:20, 6:27, 6:28, 6:33, 6:30, ~6:05 (2:33 for .42)
Also beer at mile 7 or 8 because I was starting to slog. I'm not completely sure, but it sounded like I was the first person to take beer, so that's fun.
