Notes

While this isn't a fantastic time, I'm pretty happy with it. For effectively, the longest actual race I've done (half-marathon was a race, but not the same, being as it was the day after soccer and pretty slow), breaking 6 minute miles isn't terrible. It is about the same pace as my fastest cross country meets and it's 2 K longer. Also, I got a blister on the underside of my second toe on Wednesday and it hadn't healed. All in all, I'll take it.

Other notes:

-Either set a PR in the 5K en route (17:15ish through 12) or came really damn close.

-Started with an 81. Why? I was trying to hang with Rob and Josh for as long as possible without completely detonating. That was about 2 and half laps, but I think it helped hold my pace up.

-Stayed ahead of the lead woman. Yes, it's petty and yes, it wasn't by much, but I stayed ahead. I also didn't realize that she was that close behind.

-We got there with less time than usual. It wasn't a problem, but it was slightly worrying.

-My estimated 5-K times are about around 18 and 19. That's not good, so I need to work on negative splits.

-Thank you to everyone for cheering!
