Madison Marathon!

Goal: Sub 3, ideally something like 2:48:39. Yes, that would involve back to back half marathon PRs.

Day of Notes: That goal. Hah. Haaaahhhhhh.

Overall, I'm okay with this race. My training was pretty garbage, but I finished and enjoyed the run. Got a lot of high fives and good cheering, especially in the last four miles. When I was dying and walking about 30 seconds each mile (would recommend, honestly- breaks up the muscle strain and keeps you moving.) My legs never cramped, but I got the pre-cramp tightness several times, including in both legs in the finishing chute. So that was a fun stagger toward the finish line. At about mile 21, I realized I needed to eat something, but in the first 13, I had some bad GI issues and had to stop twice. So I only ate about 3/4s of a clif bar. The course was pretty rough. Late hills did some damage and it was very exposed late in the race. Overall, would do this race again provided I did actual training.
