Goal for Week: 60 Miles
I don't think I'm going to get 60 this week, but 55 seems doable. For this run, I ran to the Capitol city trail all the way to John Nolan, then across to the arboretum, all the way around. Realized that I didn't have enough breakfast at mile 11 or so and forgot that water is at mile 12 and 18, which was a bit rough. Run itself was okay, started at a consistent 7:45 pace for the first 10 or so, bonked pretty hard after that.
Run thoughts/notes:
1) I ran this the hard way. I need to better balance the pacing for this.
2) This run was actually great except for the wrong turn at mile 7 ish. I can say that I ran most of the Capitol City Trail, which is a neat little life achievement.
3) Finished in under 3 hours even with walking breaks and a massive bonk. Running another four miles in that time? Woo-ee, that's gonna be quick.
4) Longest non-marathon run ever! That's fun.
5) Did hit 55 miles on the week!
6) I like these shoes, but they have a seam straight up the heel that blistered my Achilles badly on the first long run. All in all, my feet handled this okay, not amazing. Left second toe is a little stiff right now, but no blisters.
7) Ran in my grey shorts, lime shirt, and reflective vest. That might be the marathon outfit, since I avoided all of the chafing. Not sure about the shorts though.
