Notes

Ok, the thing about this race is that you can pretty much give it your all, without having to conserve for any hills. There are only very small hills. For the most part, you can blaze through this course. I kept a 7:15-7:30 pace for the first two miles. I walked about 3 times and took my inhaler 4 times (including the one puff, right before the start). There were two water stations, but no one really saw the first one, because (according to one participant), it was tucked behind a truck.

As for my body: Some shin splint pain in the left leg, a little tightness in the right IT Band. Otherwise, my asthma was pretty well controlled by the inhaler (I've been taking Advair, morning and night, since Monday).

I should also note that I only had about 4 1/2 hours of sleep, last night. Lee picked me up at 4:50 AM. That was plenty of time for us to get up there, stretch, use the bathroom, and get ready for the race.
