MonkeyVille

Notes

First, I went by the Park Office to drop off our check for the bench in Monkeyville (!!!) and there was no one there, so I put it in an envelope and crammed it through the teensy door slot and hoped that it doesn't just get trampled when the Park Peeps roll in. Then I drove down Gaucho Road and parked across from the Steeplechase for my little jaunt through the monkeys and mountains. Lovely and totes void of people due to impending storms that never happened. Then about a mile from back at the car I saw Jennifer which was nice except then her song "Blue Train" got stuck in my head which is okay since it's a great song, but two hours later I'm still...riding the bluuuuue train to nowhere....afraid you might beeee there. Anyway, just past Jennifer there was a park police dude parked in the park which is great since, the parks are increasingly full of A-Holes. I waved. He waved. Then up past the one way sign, here comes an A-Hole blasting music and going the wrong way 40 miles an hour. AWESOME! Several short blasts of a honky siren ensued. I'm guessing a $150 ticket. Yay! Then as I'm toodling back along Gaucho Rd. I note that a massive tree has fallen across it in the mere hour that I was in the park. WTF? Turned around and then had to drive all the way back through the park the exact way I had just run in order to get out of the park which was groovy because two turkeys were leading a brood of 7 turklets across the road near Skunk Bend and I was all "SWEEEET!" out the window to them, which startled them which was even cuter. Drove down Shaaaaaaaale Hill and paused briefly by our bench site, envisioning wine and cheese parties there in the non-pandemic future, and then I ambled on out of the park.

Thus ends today's riveting recap of My Jog in the Park. Stay tuned for more fun stories!
