Two runners in brand new, sparkly running gear came jogging slowly toward me on the EWP path. The man was wearing a full body suit that looked like something you might wear for a Trans-Siberien trek (it was 42 degrees and sunny). The woman sported a huge sweatshirt with NIKE! splashed in glittery silver across the front.
As they grew closer, they flailed their arms at me and bellowed, "The path is flooded! The path IS FLOODED!!" I just waved and said thanks. Because, after all, the path in that section is always flooded after it rains. Getting around it requires the stunning maneuver of stepping off the path and into the field for about 15 yards. Still, as I ran on, I heard one of them call, "It's really flooded!"
