OMG. Steve and Myra were the only others who would attempt this. This trail went up incredibly steep switchbacks for 2.1 miles, ending with a short climb along the bare rock with cables. Only Steve opted to do the cables section. 2200 feet elevation gain in 2 miles. We waited on the scree with 360 views of the park and snow covered mountains.
Heard a sound like rock or something crashing down through the woods, which freaked us all the feck out since we thought it was Steve falling from the cables. Gah! Turns out it was just some rock tumbling from the trail.
Possibly the most incredible hike we've ever done.
