Notes

Group run with Lance, Cremer, Bob and Dick. Bob and Dick continued on their own after first 6. Was supposed to be a planned 15 mile run at MP + 45 or 8:38. The first 6 put us at about 9:40 so had to hustle a bit to bring it into range. Had a good headwind on the way out but excellent tail wind and slight downhill back. Lance kicked in his booster rockets at mile 14 and was out of sight in a couple of miles. I pushed as hard as I could to finish... it was tough, but thelast three were a good indicator that after running a half there was still some speed in the old boy.

Diane made excellent soup for thepost run... Thanks Diane!!

Felt good about effort - tough, but actually brought the final numbers below the planned pace to 8:29.

So.... I left Lances and called Jane who said she was going to the Y to run. I decided to go there and swim. I actually did 20 laps (a new high) swimming. It felt wonderful to be in the pool after running. Sore muscles be gone. I would do the modified Kim stroke 1 length and freestyle back. I even feel like I am getting the bilateral breathing down. It actually is easier. Still needed to catch my breath at the end of each length, but limited it to no more than 10 seconds. It will be a long time before I'm trying to learn flip turns. So all I needed to do was ride the bike for a bit and I almost did a "try!" - haha.
