Great weather! Decided to try a practice 5K. My goal was to be faster than my easy pace (<29:30). Warmed up with 0.8 miles, but I didn't restart my watch after. Based on my warm up pace, I started running around 8:46. I started too quickly and had a hard time with the first split. I think the pace for my first split is a bit faster than I recorded, but it's close enough. I found a good rhythm after that. I ran past my turn-around point and then overcompensated by stopping (0.57 miles) too short. I started to kick too soon, slowed down once I realized that, and then kicked hard again too late. I'll need to work on that. I have no doubt that I could have kept my final pace for another 0.57 miles, so my projected finish is around 25:40.
