Sunny and hot day today, went to the trail to run 13.1. Was 70 degrees at the start, and a hot sun so warming up quickly. Had a fast first out and back, then decided to stop for water and a break and run the second out & back at a slow easy "fun" pace to acclimate to the heat. Ended up running 16, in 4 parts. This was part 4, left calf was trying weakly to cramp up through most of this, so I had to take it very slow. I assume the cramps are due to the sunny hot weather? I walked around afterwards, had minor leg pain, did a self-massage on calves and that seemed to help a lot. No cramps in car while seated or while driving. Hopefully the cramps are something that I will acclimate away from?
