I was good and only ran one mile, I swear. I was considering running one for a warmup, and then running one for real, and then running a cool down, but I think that would have violated the terms and conditions. So I just ran two stadiums. Besides, it only took about 25 seconds for the euphoria to set in anyway.

But if I didn't get anything more out of that then a brief runner's high, I did get the sense that everything is going to be alright. So maybe I won't be able to really RUN! Cross Country this year like I had wanted to run it, but at least I will Run it to the best that I'm allowed to by the circumstances that have been afforded me. Yeah, standing there taking pictures and cheering is great, but am I really doing anything for the team? No. At this point, running and being the last person to finish is better than standing on the sidelines screaming like a wild banshee.

And at least my throat won't hurt as bad the next morning, that's always a plus.

News from the hip is going to be delayed in coming, thanks to my trusty painkillers. I didn't feel a whole lot while I was running, but then again, I was too much off on cloud nine to even think about what my body was physically feeling. About the most I feel now is a bit of tenderness on the outside of my right knee, courtesy of my IT band, no doubt. But I'm sure I'll get a newsflash later on today.
