I really thought I was running harder than that. Whatever. I just went running to loosen up for the race tomorrow.
My iPod was charging for tomorrow, so I ran sans music. Gave me time to think. I love running just when the sun is at the right angle in the atmosphere, so that it leaves a bronzy tint to everything, and when it hits you, you're golden. Every run has the potential to be frustrating; a tragedy in the making. But othertimes, it's just liberating, if not triumphant. Today, despite the pace (or lack thereof) was peaceful.
It's funny how you sing all the songs in your head to the cadence of your feet, even if there's no music. And it's usually just one or two lines, over and over and over.
"It's rain, that makes the flowers bloom, you know,
Rain, to leave you all alone,
That keeps eyelashes falling,
And wishes washed away...."
