Damn, if I would have know I was this close to 40 for 10K, I would have shaved a few seconds off to go sub 40 on principle alone. My plan was 6:20 for 10K, but the tables (Daniel's) said that my pace should be 6:33 for 40 minutes, using 18:24 as my most recent 5K time. As it turns out, I was somewhere in the middle.

Factors working against me were: heavy training shoes (next lactate threshold run on the trail will be in flats), the temp, and the trail itself. I would have run faster on the road or a track. Overall, I'm OK with it and know that these "planned workouts" are so much better than just going out and running, which constitutes 99% of my lifetime running. I need about 8 more weeks of just what I've done this week to be ready to set a 5 and 10K PR.
