Confidence building workout! Started at Scott/Trail went north to Cedar Crest, Lake Town, Chapel Hill, Forum, Nifong, Scott, Trail + .16 on trail. Drank some gatorade, 1 gu, put on more sunscreen then did it again. There are some significant hills on this route and although I had to slow down, they didn't affect me at all. I practiced shorter strides, hitting flat footed and rolling through the step on the downhills, as Steve F. suggested, while concentrating on not braking by landing with my heel. It was difficult to not get running too fast and I must be carefull to slow down @ Boston. I really enjoyed this course and remember not too long ago fearing the massive hills. I've never been stronger or better prepared for a marathon than I am now. 16 days till Boston!

1-746, 2-725, 3-723 (big downhill/big uphill, Fairview to Lymrick on C.H.), 4-707, 5-735 (no downhill, major uphill and into wind whole mile, bridge in front of Wilson's to Nifong), 6-708, 7-659, 8-652.

Repeat loop; 9-716, 10-715, 11-704, 12-655, 13-722, 14-654, 15-648, 16-644!

What I did right: Sunscreen, Big breakfast (7 pieces of bacon, 2 eggs, 1/2 pineapple @ 9:00 AM), Allegra, Gatorade (before, @ 8 miles), gu (1 before, 1 @ 8), sunglasses. Got 9 1/2 hours of sleep last night.

What I did wrong: forgot body glide (although I didn't need it), fairly new shoes (but what I plan to wear @ Boston).
