Did a Galloway run. Ran 1 mile and then walked 1 minute. That accounts for the fast first mile. That is the way I plan to run the race.
I ate a Cliff bar starting at mile 4 and ending just before 6. Those are really hard to get down. I am going to try one before my run on the longer runs and a gel in the middle of the run. Probably starting at 10 or 12 miles.
