Notes
First 5K since last July, wasn't certain on where I would be time wise. First mile, felt like work. Second mile, not sure if I can maintain this, slowed a couple seconds. Third mile, past 3rd place, began kick too late, could have pushed sooner. 3rd overall in 19:06 - soft field for the size.
Course was a roller, double loop, with a hairpin on a narrow path, making the second lap very difficult with a lot of weaving in/out of lap traffic. Note- I dislike hairpin turnarounds in 5k's.
It felt great to run harder. I would have like a sub-19, but this being the first 5k of the summer, I'll take it.
Mom and Dad came to watch, so it felt great to grab a top three for mom on mother's day.
I think I've killed my Nike GPS, bummer. I like my plain old timex better anyway.
