Notes

This Monday came with a lightning bolt, this morning Kevin told us - after 13 years Josh was leaving. Which proposes an interesting predicament to my company and me as an employee. So, during lunch, I did what any good man does when they need to do some hard thinking. Headed out down to the riverwalk and LFP. For the first 4 miles, I was just getting my legs going while I was thinking through things. A man said Happy Thanksgiving to me, which brightened my day. As I was running north into the wind I was thinking about the intersection that I seem to keep trying to avoid. One of opportunity, failure, wants and needs. I'm feeling like I'm in the center of a European city, with 18 roads heading away from me, each displaying the white walking man symbol. And, as soon as I step out into the crosswalk I'll get smashed by a car.

Passing Oak Street beach, I saw 2 people just sitting in the sand, basking in the sun. And at that moment, that was all I wanted to do. After I kept going, those feelings fell away, and I decided opportunity and failure, ultimately, have the same meaning. Learning. No matter what road I choose to go down, I'll still always have the chance of getting hit by a car, and either way, I won't die from this metaphorical car. As long as I move instead of staying stagnant, accomplish instead of waiting for others to tell me I can or will or have to, it'll be fine.
