Compression calf sleeves, shorts -> OK

Arm sleeves, long sleeve compression top, shirt sleeve tech shirt -> Slightly cold at start but is too warm soon after running. Had to pull off the arm sleeves within the first 6 miles. Should have gone with just a regular long sleeve tech shirt. Compression taxes the arm, forearm and bicep sore after finishing.

Running gloves -> OK

Visor + head band for ear cover -> Too warm after a while, had to pull off head band at halfway point

Gels: 1 before start and 3 spread out around every 10k -> OK

So here’s how it went down. Cold morning right around freezing which actually was nicer than expected, and with a tail wind, the early miles were great, but instead of sticking to the pace I needed or trained for, I winged it (which should now be a pun for being stupid) and went faster than I should. Then came the middle miles where I had to fight a headwind and tried not to fall behind goal pace too much, which taxed a lot out of me, and my quads and hamstrings started complaining. Wheels started to slowly come off around mile 18, quads got really sore and my pace kept dropping. Sh*t really hit the fan in the last mile, cramps in both quads the whole way... Attempted to just walk it but that was even worse because both calves would try to cramp too, so I had to do a “pretend jog” while cramping to the finish.
