6 mile easy run. First day back after 3 days off. These last 3 days, I really just took it easy, no running or cross training. Achilles felt 100X better on today's run, basically fully recovered. I still have some concern regarding the tightness in my calves although now I'm way more focused on sleep, hydration, and stretching than I was a week ago. I recall devleoping this achilles pain right after my double last Saturday, followed by a long run on Sunday. On top of this, the amount of sleep I was getting around this time was sporadic, and I'm not sure how well I was hydrated. This was right around the time I was studying for my last, so I think this combined with an extensive amount of milage on the weekend was the reason why I developed this achilles pain, which must have begun from running on tight calves. I am icing now after every run, stretching a lot more, and so I'm hoping to ramp up mileage as the week progresses. Not sure what I'll be at in terms of mileage this week, but I'm not expecting much more than 50-55.
