As steady a marathon as I've had so far. Kept running with the exception of a bathroom pit stop at Hains Point. I held it back at the beginning and planned to kick it at Hains Point but I didn't have the pace I'd hoped, or maybe I played it too conservative. Either way I felt as strong as I've ever been with endurance but I still faded. The base is getting better and I need to continue to build on it while still getting in speed work.
I wore the same thing I wore at National in March, same exact conditions. Cold at the start and still in high 40s at the end. I wish I would of wore shorts instead of the cold gear pants. My legs got hot which may have led to the cramping I had towards the end. No concerns on the legs. The cramps were random, light, and in both legs in different spots. Sometimes a quad, sometime a hamstring. Nothing lasting.
