Notes

I decided not to run last night. We had gotten 3.5 inches of rain during the day and forecast called for .5 inch more overnight with 20+ mph winds. It was too dangerous to run on the canal with the flooding. So I decided to do what I could today between conference calls. The first run was about 6 miles with an hour break for a call. Followed this up with about 12.8 and a break for checking emails and lunch and then finished with a final 13 miles.

I know this was more than planned, but since I recovered so quick from Sunday's 29 mile run I thought it was safe and well within what my body could handle. One thing I have noticed is it takes about 20 miles running at these paces before I feel like I am at a level where I am testing my mind and body for what it will be like in the race. Anything shorter than that seems way too easy right now. Knock-on-wood I should say. Feeling good.

One issue I had for several years has been my hip tightening on anything long. This is not an issue right now. I think a combination of the strength and stretching work I have done at taekwondo, lunges before the runs, and also I have been using CBD which seems to really help keep down inflammation in general.

A few notes of things I thought of during these runs:

Change of clothes (dry) might be nice at start finish which we will now visit at mile 30, 60 and finish.

Bone broth might be nice to have at start finish as well.

S-Caps helped during this one. Kept muscle cramping at bay.

CBD on a regular basis, thinking 45 mg every 15 miles or 2-3 hours. - need to figure out a way to get powder oil mixture in a container that will work with proper dosage. This way of taking it works the best. Gummies not as good. Too much junk mixed with it.
