Notes
Felt ok on this one. The dog laid down on me after only 3 so I had to drag him back home and head back out for the rest. Miscalculated the out and back for the remaining miles so I went a little over the prescribed 7, but not by much. My son wanted so bad to run with me so I jogged with him for about a mile and a half before heading out for this run. He wanted so bad to go the whole way with me. I didn't want to say he "can't" run 7 miles or that he's not fast enough yet to keep up so I made up a story, that is partially true, that kids aren't allowed on the gravel road I use because of the dump trucks. I was really surprised he was able to do as well as he did. We went up some serious hills. My thought was that it would tire him out and he'd want to go home but he just kept plugging away. He is a determined boy. Once he gets an idea in his head he doesn't back down, which can be good and bad. But I looked back to watch him and he looked so happy while he was running. He seems to really enjoy it. I was so proud of him.
