Ok so in my race photos I notice I am always running with my mouth gapping open and normally I figure its just because I'm racing really hard but during the 50K last weekend I never pushed the pace so I should have been breathing easy. Then I started to realize I always run with my mouth open instead of breathing through my nose. So on this run I forced myself to run with my mouth shut. This was TOUGH! My legs felt great and I did a few strides which I had to suck in some air through my mouth. But I found it hard to just breath through my nose. Since this is an easy week I'm going to continue to experiment with it. I've read that breathing through the nose is more efficient so this might be a good structural change for me.
