Part 1 of Old Man Meyers. Decent day, a little overcast (started sprinkling about half way in), felt fast but also didn't feel like I had a lot of energy because I didn't fuel well last night. Hills were a bitch too. The run cuts off halfway because right where this run ended of a dog encounter. I was cresting a hill on the right side of the road when I saw a pitbull running at me. It looked like a rope or wire was coming off of it so I thought it was not able to reach me so I kept running, but a second or two later I realized that it was in fact unleashed and running right at me. By the time I realized this it was right there at my heels so I started doing high knees to not get bit, but I realized a few seconds later that it was not biting me but just playing with me. I stopped and crouched a bit so as to not spook it but I was myself a little spooked. A guy who was driving past, or who was pulling out of that house's driveway had stopped and was telling me the dog was friendly and asked if I was ok, which was kinda embarrassing and annoying because of course it is easier to see that when you are not the one being charged by a dog you don't know unexpectedly. I talked to him for a second and laughed it off, and the owner of the dog yelled for the dog and said sorry to me, and then I got back to my run. I don't remember ending or even stopping my run but somehow it was ended when I checked it again, and on top of that it had sent some emergency signal but I was able to cancel. The rest of the run was quicker because running from a dog really loosened me up, I guess.
