Notes

Tough solo long run on this hilly loop. It was bit humid. Went out and was not feeling good from the get-go, and the first 1.7 or so miles are punishing. Was out in 7:41 though, much faster than the other time I ran it this summer. Was strong on the gradual uphills at the beginning. Saw John's aunt and uncle walking on the road. Got to the stone in 12:22 Second mile in 7:08. 7:05, 6:54, 6:22 down the hill. Turned around at 35:10. Really suffered on the way back up because I stupidly ran a 7:07. That's really grinding for that hill. Then just battled the ups and downs until the last 1.7 again. Went 6:30, 5:50 for my last two. I remember last fall I ran 1:08 something and my last two miles were 6:20, 5:40. Today I ran a 6:30 penultimate mile, and I figured I'd run about a 5:50. I did that exactly. My GPS came up with 10.07 miles so I ran 24 seconds past the 10 mile point. I must have just swerved around the road more on the way back. I think that it took me further to hit 5 on the way out than last time. So I definitely ran more. Foot bugged me a bit, but not as much as I thought it might. I ate too much food last night but I'm light and in great shape. Just need to survive a bit, do a time trial or race, hen I can take two full weeks off I think.
