seeded 31/41 so I moved up 13 places. I didn't get the sub 4:40 I wanted but I'm not a middle distance runner at all. Split 67, (2:18-19), 3:30 (72 finish). Started way fast behind a kid. I didn't quite expect to be in second but ohwell then after 500 meters he slowed down and when we got 50 more meters around the curve I took off and was alone the rest of the race. People told me afterward that he was close to catching me but I out kicked him but he was never close enough for me to hear his breath. 2.5 second PR at the end of an 85 mile week in a event that I don't train for. Also, my first track race win ever! Sure just my heat but it's a win. I can enjoy that!
