This was a tough workout today. The 1k's were meant to be at 3k pace, the 600's at 1500 pace and the 3-2-1 at 800 pace and faster. It was really nice out, probably around 70 degrees, but the wind was blowing about 25 mph on the backstretch. Our 1k's were difficult in the wind, but consistent. Our first 600 was a little slower than I wanted, but not disappointing with the wind. On the second 600, Evan blew me out and I just gave up because I was disappointed. I was thinking of just cutting it after that, but I knew I would be able to handle the sprints. I just stuck on Evan and we would start into the wind and finish with it. I was going to do the second set of 3-2-1, but on the first 300, my calves really clenched up, and I did not want to push it so I pulled out with like 50 meters to go in the rep. I was probably a little dehydrated although I was drinking water consistently throughout the workout. I am not really sure what this workout says about me. I am not in great shape and I am going to have a mental block going into any 1500 I run this season. However, I think I can still put together a decent 800 in the next few weeks so that is what I am really going to focus on.
