Notes

1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-1 @ a comfortable pace with 1' Recovery. First couple were under 6 minute pace between recovery and interval. Hit the mile in 6:05, 3 mile in 18:25 and just ran this between 6:06-6:08 pace overall for the first half. My second 4' interval I pushed a bit hard in the latter half which hurt me on the second 3' interval. I got my legs back under me a bit in the last 2' and 1' interval and finished strong. So, overall pleased with this after yesterday.

Just hopped into this with no expectations. Might be a little silly since I just took a week off, but I didn't lose much fitness over that week and I think that is because I got my runs to the arc and back, lifted several times, and just spent a ton of time on my feet last week. I'm trying to do a lot of quality and quantity in the next 8 weeks. It's going to be tough and it might not pan out. However, I've tempered down expectations. I'm not really going to "go for it" in the half or 5k. I have goals for sub-77 (5:50 pace) in the half and sub-16 (5:10) pace in the 5k and the goal is to just split up my workouts to work on both. At this point, I'm looking for two more PRs to round out this gap year, take a couple days off and really ramp it up to train for a marathon either toward the end of next summer of the fall. A lot of things can happen so I don't want to have this all set in stone, but this is the plan which is subject to vary.

Girls showed strong improvement and resolve last night. A lot of maturity from the distance girls.
