Notes

Took a little while to get into this one. Had to make some changes to the initial workout scheduled because of a couple of things. As a result, we ended up doing a mile @ T (90" R), 4x800 @ Race effort (2:30 R) and then a fast 150 at the end.

A quick aside - I forgot that I was judging a taco contest at school today 4th hour. I did not think I would be getting large serving; that turned out to be my undoing. I ate my normal lunch (rice and accoutrements) and then went to the cooking room. There were four groups and each gave a larger serving to the last, so my stomach was pushing it. I was hoping that it would be digested by practice. The end of school came around and things didn't feel much better.

Anyways, I just figured I'd ease into things. I ran with the boys again. Jeremie and Park took it out pretty quick and I relaxed. it was a bit disconcerting being ten seconds behind them after the first rep, but I was just telling myself to go my threshold effort. The first race pace rep was back over the hill and pretty tough. Legs still weren't cooperating and I was getting irritated with Sam because he kept swaying back and forth in front of me, but we worked it out. The second one was when I started to settle in and after that I knew the rest of the workout was in the bag so long as the stomach cooperated. #3 I kept with Park and Jeremie for the first rep and was our best group rep. #4 I was just hoping to keep the progression going at that point and Jeremie and Park popped off like rockets. I was hoping for more conservative and then push and that is what I did and nearly caught them at the end.

After a short 30 seconds we did our final push and I just put it out there. Ran hard and was happy with it. Legs were pretty toast after. We'll see where we're at tomorrow, but I'm happy with the effort today. Not in my best state of mind or body, but just let the workout happen and it worked out fine.
