Notes
Regionals at the Arboretum. Started off with Henry, Chris, Sny, Kibs, and Mitch among others. Went out well in 5:50. Henry and Chris started rolling on the second lap and I started fading from them in the backstretch. I maintained my pace, but they were able to increase, which was good to see. I was running with Adam Cobert for most of that lap and he started fading. For the majority of this time, I was running with this guy from Minnesota and we did a good job picking each other up. I picked up Ryan Somerfield right before 6k when he was really struggling and he was able to turn it around after that. I was having a tough time hanging on to people the last loop and was not able to hang with the group I was with for the finish.
Overall, pretty happy with the time, not really with the effort. I really struggle running downhill, so I hope to work on this over the next two weeks to get ready for Nationals. I think a good night of sleep and two more weeks of training will help me close the gap between me and a lot of those guys in the mid-28 range.
