Finally got the results posted. A little surprised by the time. Officially, I won the race, but in reality two kids from Joliet beat me. After a half mile it was just the three of us. We ran together for about a mile and a half. They started talking to each other and I knew they were about to make a move, which they did and I didn't respond to it. The guy who won ran pretty well. He took off and kept gapping me. The second place guy could not really match him, but he maintained a 10-15 second lead on me. I really wanted to beat him, but I did not. After us, there was nobody within a minute. I think if more people were in the race, I would have worked harder to run faster, but I am disappointed I did not match the other two. However, it was very cold outside (25 degrees at race start) and I did pr and I am four weeks into training so I will not fret.
