FInally, a workout that I felt comfortable during. The tempo pace 2k was very easy. We were slow the first 1000-4:08 as opposed to 4:05. But we still finished in 8:08. Jake was mad that we didn't even out our splits, but it felt really easy so I didn't think too much of it. Our first race 1000 was too fast. Jeremy took it out hard and the last 300 we pretty much had to walk. The second 1000 we were still at 600 fast and we just maintained. Same story for the last two 1000's. I didn't have to strain on any of them. I wonder what it would have beeen like with a shorter rest. I feel like that maybe would have been more beneficial? I'm not sure though, but these were a breeze. With the 2 minute rest we could have been under 3:30 easy, but I guess that wasn't the point of the workout. The workout was to hit the paces, so maybe we were a little fast, but we were consistent and the pace we went is equivalent to roughly a 30 min 8k. I still think that is possible for this meet. However, I would be happy with just improving and running a consistent race and smart race. That would yield better feelings.
