Last checkpoint workout going into Berlin. Pretty tired from lack of sleep this week and humidity definitely made this a moist one, but once I got going I was fine. Every marathon pace workout I've had I've not done appropriately. It's given me a bit of anxiety in that I don't want Berlin to be the first time where I actually lock into this pace. Even in this workout, I felt like I kept reducing effort for each interval and was trying to establish the mindset that I have double digit miles to go. I am hoping that 'effort over pace' mindset can carry me through.
I think at this point I just need to embrace confidence in the thought that I am doing workouts that wore me out in college with a pretty modest effort. I am running those workouts consistently, but marathon work is kind of monotonous. I've enjoyed the work that's got to me to this point and just will focus on containing effort once I toe the line in Berlin and hopefully I can get to the last ten miles and hit the gas.
