Rehab Run

Notes

My second run, currently in rehab (PT), since the Battaan Memorial Death March marathon. I started the base loop, as I go to the top of the hill, we run loops, before going down the hill to the CE loop. Instead I kept going up that secondary hill (I've never been there before) and went "behind everything. Got lost for a moment, but I enjoyed the extra hill.

The starting hill is hard, I surely did not run fast, but my goal is to take it easy and see how all the knees and achillies hold up under the stress. After I finished this new hill, I could start the "juices" turning on, I felt a bit more confident (don't run for four months--and see how your confidence is) and I began to feel again like a runner. What a good feeling that is....a long way to go before I'm a runner again; however, I'm on the right path.

The body feels good. Tightness in the left knee and some in the right--but, no pain. I did all my achillies and hip stretches before I ran and I hope to swim and "roll-out" my quads and IT band tonight.

More to come....

Great to hear you have started running again. You must remind yourself to stay slow...control your breathing. It is like riding a bike, it will come back fast and I don't want to see you re-injure yourself because you started picking up speed too quickly. I wish I could be your running partner to help you through this. btw..I sent the Insanity Workout DVDs this morning. USPS said you should receive them Monday (21 Jul). I would be interested in doing them with you. Call me to discuss.

Thanks for all the good words.....!

I ran 1.5 Mon-Wed-Fri and all seems good...except my knee is tight (not where it should be). So, while it isn't right, I don't really have any pain. Today is Monday, guessing I ran 2.5 (I added the CE loop to the AFRL portion of the base loop). I'll run this M-W-F this week...see how it goes. I'm timing nothing--for a a number of reasons....to include being disappointed with my time...and my competitiveness to run faster. I know me, I want to run faste
